  • A Hebrew-language newspaper reported the initial approval of the Israeli regime for a ceasefire in Lebanon. The report further states that progress in the ceasefire negotiations came after Hezbollah launched more than 250 mortars and missiles towards occupied territories in just one day.The Hebrew-language newspaper Ma’ariv also reported, citing informed sources, that after a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Tel Aviv is moving toward a ceasefire in Lebanon.According to Al Jazeera, Ma’ariv added, “The majority of members of the security cabinet and the Israeli ministers’ cabinet are in favor of an agreement with Lebanon.”The American network CNN also reported, citing some sources, that Netanyahu has expressed his initial approval of a ceasefire agreement, but Tel Aviv still has reservations about certain provisions of the agreement.Sheikh Na’im Qassem, the Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, also stated in his recent speech that the resistance has announced its conditions for a ceasefire, and if attacks continue, Hezbollah is ready for a prolonged war. This agreement includes a 60-day transition period during which the Israeli army will withdraw from southern Lebanon, the Lebanese army will be deployed near the border, and Hezbollah will move its heavy weapons to the north of the Litani River.A committee led by the U.S. will oversee the implementation of the agreement and take necessary actions in case of a violation. The U.S. has provided Israel with a letter of guarantee that includes support for Israel’s military actions against immediate threats from Lebanese territory.According to the agreement, Israel will act after consulting with the U.S. if the Lebanese army has not addressed the threat.According to an American official, the crisis was resolved in the past 24 hours. France agreed to take steps to improve relations with Israel, and Israel accepted that France could play a role in implementing the agreement
