The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized this morning during a meeting with thousands of people from various sectors, in a discussion on “explaining the layers of the Syrian events, outlining the logic behind Iran’s presence in the country, explaining the future course of regional developments, and sharing lessons and insights from the Syrian situation,” that these events are the result of an American-Zionist plot. He further emphasized that the resistance movement, having gained strength and motivation in response to the pressures and atrocities, will, by God’s will, spread across the entire region.Ayatollah Khamenei, referring to the clear role of a neighboring country of Syria in these events, stated that there are many signs indicating that the main plotters and masterminds are the U.S. and the Zionist regime. He pointed to the actions of the Zionists and Americans in the recent Syrian developments as evidence of their involvement. He said, “If they weren’t the architects of the Syrian crisis, why, unlike other countries, did they not remain silent? Instead, they bombed hundreds of infrastructure centers, airports, research centers, and other sites in Syria, effectively intervening in the ongoing events.”Referring to the U.S. official announcement of attacks on 75 points in Syria in the first couple of days of the crisis, Ayatollah Khamenei said: “The Zionists, in addition to targeting hundreds of sites, occupied Syrian lands and brought their tanks close to Damascus. While the U.S. shows extreme sensitivity to much smaller border events in other countries, not only did it fail to protest, but it also provided assistance.”He asked, “Do these facts not indicate their involvement in the Syrian events?” Explaining another sign of U.S. and Zionist interference, he said, “In the final days, aid and resources were to be sent to a region in Syria, especially Zaynabiyya, but the Zionists blocked all land routes, and American and Zionist planes, through extensive flights, prevented the transfer of aid by air.”If they are not involved in this matter, why did they prevent help from reaching the Syrian people? He characterized the objectives of those attacking Syria’s northern and southern territories as different, saying that while the U.S. aims to cement its position, time will prove that none of these objectives will be achieved, and undoubtedly, the areas seized in Syria will be liberated by the brave Syrian youth. He forecasted that, by God’s will, the U.S. would be expelled from the region due to the success of the resistance front, and pointed out that certain powers mistakenly believe the resistance front has weakened since the fall of Syria’s pro-resistance government. He said, “This is a grave mistake, as they fundamentally lack a proper understanding of resistance and the resistance front.”He explained that resistance is not merely a physical entity to be broken or destroyed, but rather an ideology, faith, and conviction that becomes stronger with pressure. He noted that this was evident in the stronger position of Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and other Palestinian forces despite 14 months of intense pressure. He stressed that the expansion of the resistance across the region is a definitive result of the enemy’s pressures and crimes, and warned those who believe that these events would weaken Iran to understand that Iran is strong and will become even stronger. He described resistance as a deeply rooted reality in the faith and beliefs of nations and stated that it embodies opposition to the U.S. and any other form of oppression.Referring to the over 75 years since Palestine was occupied, he said that despite the long passage of time, the Palestinian people’s steadfastness today is ten times greater than at the time of the occupation, and this shared belief in resistance has fueled this flame of support for Palestine.
