A resolution against Iran, proposed by the three European countries of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA) with the support of the United States, was adopted early on Friday in the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).The resolution, presented by the UK, France, and Germany, was passed with 19 votes in favor, 12 abstentions, and 3 votes against.Russia, China, and Burkina Faso voted against the resolution.Diplomats say this resolution accuses Iran of not fully cooperating with the IAEA and urges Tehran to improve its cooperation with the Agency.According to the Associated Press, the resolution asks the IAEA to prepare a “comprehensive and updated” assessment of Iran’s nuclear program by the spring of 2025.The Board of Governors also urges Iran to provide responses regarding the discovery of uranium particles at two sites claimed by the IAEA.Iran has repeatedly emphasized its full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and will respond promptly to the Board of Governors’ resolution.Mohsen Naziri Asl stated that this resolution was issued without regard to the results of the Director-General’s visit to Iran and the roadmap agreed upon with the Director-General.Regarding Iran’s response to the resolution proposed by the three European countries, he emphasized that the response will be based on Iran’s legitimate rights.Additionally, Iran reiterates its commitment to implementing the 3.1 amendment code, which is a legal obligation, and providing all initial information and designs required by the Atomic Energy Agency
