  • Letter from Hassan Abdoliyanpour, Head of the Center for Lawyers, Official Experts, and Family Advisors of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Olympic Committee:To the Honorable President of the International Olympic Committee, MrThomas Bach,Greetings,Your and your colleagues’ efforts in organizing the upcoming Paris Olympics are greatly appreciated. The Olympic Charter, which serves as the constitution for all countries in the field of sports, regards the primary goal of the Olympics as peace and friendship.Unfortunately, as you are aware, the Israeli regime, through war and severe violations of humanitarian rights in Palestine, especially Gaza, has endangered global peace and security by killing and injuring over a hundred thousand innocent and defenseless people and occupying a significant portion of Palestinian land. The recent advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice has also affirmed this. With the continuation of the war on the eve of the Paris Olympics, contrary to the Charter and the December 2, 2021 resolution between the United Nations and the International Olympic Committee aimed at preventing and ending wars before and after the Games, the regime has violated its ethical, legal, and sports commitments and transformed peace and friendship into war and violence, resulting in the martyrdom of many athletes and sports enthusiasts in Palestine. Therefore, in line with the goals of the Charter, the support of global peace, and the condemnation of war and violence, based on Articles 2, 4, and 5 of the Olympic Charter, the following actions are expected:1. Prevent the participation of any sports team from the Israeli occupying regime in the Paris Olympics.2. Ensure that no anthem, flag, color, or other emblem of this country is displayed at any sporting event or conference.3. Ensure that no international sporting event is organized or supported by any International Federation (IF) or National Olympic Committee (NOC) within the Israeli regime.4. Ensure that no government or official representative of the occupying regime is invited to any international sporting events or conferences
